Brian Fogarty – Senior Coach
Brian Fogarty’s journey into triathlon began in 2012, following a successful football career that included playing for Burnley FC and several semi-professional clubs across the Northwest. Seeking a new challenge after battling running injuries, Brian embraced triathlon with the determination and dedication that define him. Despite having no experience, he completed his first Ironman—and quickly fell in love with the sport.
Fast-forward to today, and Brian is one of the UK’s most accomplished Ironman athletes. A six-time competitor at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Brian has raced in 26 Ironman-distance events, earning multiple age-group wins at some of the sport's toughest courses, including Ironman Lanzarote and Ironman UK. In 2019, he realized a lifelong dream by claiming the overall title at Ironman UK, cementing his reputation as one of the sport’s most formidable competitors.
As a coach, Brian brings unparalleled experience and passion to his role at TRICENTRALUK. Since joining the coaching team in 2016, he has guided numerous athletes to personal bests, Ironman podiums, and exceptional performances at World Championship events. Whether helping a first-timer cross the finish line or elevating seasoned competitors to new heights, Brian’s results-driven approach consistently delivers success.
Known for his expertise in cycling, Brian’s coaching philosophy emphasizes structured training programs that build strength, endurance, and confidence. His athletes benefit not only from his knowledge but also from his firsthand experience of balancing full-time work with training and racing at the sport’s highest level. Brian’s story inspires anyone who wants to push their limits and redefine what’s possible.
